Fantastic Happy Hour, which includes delicious food. Great bar service and bartender Jeff.
It was a Sunday night and our group of 18 was on the hunt for Chinese food... It had been a long day and we had planned on ordering in but the day got away from us and it was already after 8pm when we realized we had not planned for our order. I made a few phone calls and connected with Jeffrey at Zao Jun, who said they would accommodate our group on short notice and also ended up being our server. He took incredible care of us but we ordered way too much food! From soup, noodle dishes and stir fries to sea bass, duck, sushi, ribs, and even a hamburger, this restaurant has it all... some of it is done better than others, but there is something for everyone here. We also had some drinks... The restaurant itself is huge! You can't tell from the storefront but when I walked back to the restroom, I was shocked. It is clean and has a modern look and good energy. We closed it down that night and it will be an evening we'll remember for awhile, and one that my dad, RBK, would have enjoyed as well. We know he was looking down on us as we mourned his passing together. Whether you go for lunch, dinner, happy hour, or whatever, just go and enjoy!
It's been few years since I dined at this place. Went with friends on Saturday evening, we had a reservation so we were sitted pretty quickly but looking at many empty tables I don't think we needed it. Our server was very nice, but we had to wait more than 30 minutes for our food to arrive. This is definetly a more upscale type of Asian food. The prices are on a higher but the portion sizes are much smaller than your average Asian establishment. I had the cocunt cashew curry (vegan) which was the biggest size of all meals. Mongolian beff and black pepper steak were great in flavor but very small sizes. I wasn't a impressed with the curry as my friends with their dishes, it was very dry for a curry, barely any sauce. I'm glad they offer some vegan options and are able to accommodate if needed, that was very comforting. Thanks to Yelp we had a free dessert which my companions split as it wasn't vegan but they said it was delicious. They had the passion fruit cheesecake. Overall, seems to be a high quality food, pricey for sure and maybe other dishes taste better than the curry.
My favorite go to is Zao, it never disappoints! The food is absolutely delish & the drinks are just as good! I can't forget the service...top notch! Every time I come the staff is very welcoming & accommodating. I would like to shout out their amazing bartender Jeffrey! Looking for good drinks AND comedy? He is your go to!
This place is HUGE and so cute, I wasn't sure what to expect when walking in wearing my errand clothing. The service was spectacular, they gave us time to explore the menu and yet they were prompt with our order. While I would've liked to see a larger variety in rolls, the rolls they have are actually some of my favorite styles. My husband had no complaints and this was only his second time having sushi. We will be coming back again.
Went for lunch at noon on a Saturday. There weren't many customers because they had recently opened so it was easy to get seated. It took a little bit for our waiter to notice we were there but once he did his service was really good. He gave some recommendations and we took him up on them. We skipped the cocktails on this visit and enjoyed the food. The Giant Egg Rolls ($11 for 2) were pretty good but they could have used a little more seasoning in the filling, as it was a bit bland. The Crab Rangoons ($14) were really good. And the two sushi rolls that we shared were also good. We had the Firecracker Roll ($15), and the Tail Of Two Salmon Roll ($17). It's really cute inside the restaurant. The lighting is nice. The tables are big and it's really comfortable. I do have to say that because the space is so open that once it starts to get full with people it's very loud. But as long as you don't mind that then I definitely recommend the location. They have some larger tables in the front section of the restaurant so I think it's a good option for larger families and groups.
